I'm finally back from the UK and excited to see that our pool is all clean and almost ready to use (small issue with the freezing temperature but hopefully that's going to change soon!) I've been itching to get back to the craft desk today after a week spent in hotels and the office until late. And how exciting, my birthday gift order from Simon Says Stamp arrived - woohoo! Just in time for:
It just so happened that I ordered some banner AND flag dies so what a good opportunity. I made two cards for this challenge. I wanted to go with a black and white theme, to keep it really clean. Both cards used the same flag die from SSS and sentiments from Stampendous 'Birthday Wish'.
The first card uses the negative space from the die, enabling the pretty paper from My Minds Eye 'Meadowlark' to show through. Two tiny crystals finish the flag bows. My boyfriend really liked this one - I think it could be used for a guy's birthday card no problem. The sentiment is embossed in white Hero Arts embossing powder.
The second card uses the full die, cut from black card stock, again two little crystals for the bows, and I layered white card stock heart die cut shapes on top (same die set). The sentiment is embossed in black Tsukinenko embossing powder. The white Bazzill Avalanche Card (Grass Cut texture in both cards) was then layered onto black cardstock with foam adhesive.
I really like these cards - both pretty classy, neutral for a man or woman, and very few materials required :)
