Color Block Butterflies

Hi all,

Entering the CAS-ual Friday challenge again 'Color Blocks' (or colour blocks in my language :)

I decided to use my new Spellbinders Les Papillions butterfly dies and Hero Arts Painted Canvas background stamp.    I stamped white Simon Says Stamp heavy cardstock with the background stamp, which I'd inked up with Hero Arts shadow inks in Pale Tomato, Butterbar, Cornflower, Field Greens and Orange Soda to create a rainbow - or color block - look.

I die cut one of the butterflies twice, once from white Simon Says Stamp heavy cardstock and once from the background print (being sure to keep all the tiny offcuts).  I sprayed the white butterfly in Tattered Angels glimmer mist in Dazzling Diamonds to give it a sparkle.  I then pieced the white butterfly into the background negative cut, and added all the insert offcuts to create a letterpress look  (I regretted it about half way through - took forEVER!!).  I finished it off with a 'Thank You' stamp from Hero Arts in Versafine, and adhered the whole thing to more white card with foam tape.

As i had  a left over rainbow butterfly die, i glued this to another piece of SSS white cardstock, which i splattered with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in 'Down the Rabbit Hole'.  The 'Thanks' is from the same Hero Arts stamp set in Versafine.

That's it for today!  Hope to be back tomorrow with something else!

Bring on the Journey - CAS-ual Friday Challenge

Hi everyone,

Time to start the year off the right (and fun!) way with a card challenge.  This week CAS-ual Friday stamps have asked participants to choose a word that describes what I hope for the new year.
I love travel and I also fully expect some big things to happen this year to do with family and work in particular.  A great many of these things are likely to really change the course of my life.  As a result I've chosen the word 'Journey'.  It really sums up how I look at life, and how I deal with the ups and downs. It's all one big experience.

I'm also planning to send this to my brother, who could do with some positivity at the moment!

The plane is stamped in Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Cornflower on Simon Says Stamp white cardstock. The image is from the Stampers Anonymous Set 'Air Travel'.  The sentiment is a combination of Papertrey Ink 'Wonderful Words: Snow Mini' and Simon Says Stamp 'Life is a Journey' stamp, stamped in Versafine Black and Ranger silver embossing powder. I finished it off with navy (hard to tell in the pic) enamel dots and foam taped to the Simon Says Stamp white Woodgrain cardstock.

It's a card that makes me feel really happy.

That's all for now folks!

Happy New Year!!!

Just checking it to say Happy New Year to everyone.  My new year's resolution is to post more cards on my blog!! I have been extremely busy making Christmas cards (and an inordinate number of birthday cards during December!) and haven't posted any of them!

Watch this space, and have a prosperous 2014!
