Spring has finally arrived I am happy to report :) The mounds of snow concrete are finally melting, the sun is shining, and I have dispensed with the gloves and hat. At long last no more hat hair at work!
The new AAA Cards Challenge is up, and it's a great one to get your creative design juices flowing. Bare Naked CAS Design - a super clean and simple card, with lots of white space. I decided to take this literally, and here's what I came up with:
I used Papertrey Ink's Bubble Talk' die and cut each bubble from 80 lb Neenah Solar White card stock, popped up on foam squares on Neenah Solar White 110 lb card stock. I thought this gave a really cool, clean finish, and with the thick foam squares I used, some cool shadows, which you can see in the photo.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's Many Thanks stamp set. I thought it would be quite funny with the empty speech bubbles!! I used Versafine in Onyx Black to stamp it. (In hindsight it was awkward to stamp in the location i chose. I should have stamped it first then stuck down the speech bubbles!)
The heart was an afterthought (to cover a bit of ink smudge from the sentiment) cut from a scrap of red card stock using the same Bubble Talk PTI die set. It adds a great pop of color that I think perfectly completed the card.
I was itching to add some glossy accents or some other embellishment to the heart but given the theme of the game i thought no, less is more!
I'm also entering this into the Addicted to Stamps challenge ' Anything Goes' and the Time Out challenge #27 'Clean and Simple'.
