AAA Cards Challenge - Technique Game

***Updated to include a video****

Happy Sunday all!

It's Father's Day today and my Husband's brother and family are visiting all the way from Kansas.  It was really nice to have a big family get together with the in-laws and LOTS of food.  Even though it did rain, it didn't stop the fun.  The kids even jumped in the pool WHILE it was raining.   I'm nearly 6 months pregnant now (next week, eek) and so not up for the pool at the moment!

Anyway onto today's card, well, cardS which were designed for the new AAA Cards Challenge which runs for two weeks from today.   It's a technique challenge this week, use a stencil, paste, or both, to create your card!  Fab for me, as if you've not noticed, almost all my recent cards have involved stencils or embossing paste :)

I also made a video for 5th card :)

I made not one but four cards this week, using white Dreamweaver embossing paste and a variety of Tim Holtz stencils at different angles on Neenah Solar white 80lb cardstock. When it was dry I spritzed Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Spray in 'Down the Rabbit Hole' to bring out the texture of the pattern more.  It's hard to see in the photos but it really sparkles.

I die cut several of the smaller Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and used my new Kissho Gansai watercolors to splurge various paints on  Tim Holtz watercolor paper.  These new paints are very similar to the Kuretake Gansai Tambi set that many people are using at the moment but they are a 72 (!!!!) set and include a lot more pearlescent, metallic and NEON.  They are really rich and creamy and blend like a dream :D  More on those in another post, as I've not seen anyone using them yet.

I used the Papertrey Ink Wet Paint Cuts dies to cut various words from Solar White cardstock, which were glued on with a Zig glue pen on top of DMC gold thread nest bundles.  The whole piece was then popped up on foam  tape on the background piece, which was popped up again on a 110lb Neenah Solar White card base.

As a finishing touch, I used some Pretty Pink Posh sequins in tone-on-tone colors to complement the paint colors I'd used.  All were the 6mm flats in Lemon Drop, Marshmallow, and Lime Sorbet.  YUM! (Sounds like ice-cream!)

I had so much fun making these cards, and they were super easy to do.  I hope you find some inspiration and join in the fun with us at AAA Cards!

Happy Father's Day again to all the Dads out there. See you very soon!!
