I'm so excited - today I am Guest Designing for Time Out Challenges (be sure to check back again in a week as I will have another post up linked to the same challenge). The DT team there are SO awesome, and I am so grateful they chose my card a few weeks ago to receive the top honors.
This week the challenge is CASEing Julia Alterman. I am a huge fan of hers and have been for many years. Her cards are always amazing, and her coloring of so many cute and funny images inspired me to buy my first set of proper pencils! The card we are CASEing is below:
So onto my card - I was inspired by the colors Julia used, the shaker elements, and also the stitched frame die. Although it's not on the card above, Julia often adds her signature dots to her cards, so I couldn't resist - can you 'spot' them?! I used a Hero Arts Tiny Flags woodblock stamp inked up with Hero Arts Neon Blue ink and stamped onto Neenah Solar white 80lb. I then die cut with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Square die and the My Favorite Things Peek A Boo circle die (one of my favorites). I adhered a panel of clear acetate to the back of the circle and a double layer of foam tape around the circle and all over the back of the card. I die cut another square of Neenah Solar white and stamped the sentiment (from an old monthly Studio Calico kit) in the centre. I filled up the circle window with Little Things by Lucy sequin shaker selection in blues and clear and then adhered the panel to the back. I used tape runner to adhere to a 110lb Neenah Solar White card base.
I colored the Gnome in with Copics and used black enamel accents for his buttons and glossy accents for his belt (the stamp is from the same monthly Studio Calico kit) and fussy cut him out. I added the dots with a white gel pen. I then adhered him to the front and the card is done!!
I hope you enjoy the card - it gave me a little chuckle ;D Hop on over to see what the Design Team at Time Out Challenge have come up with for inspiration and be sure to join in!!
