Swinging by with a watercolor scene card I made using the August Hero Arts card kit which featured fairy stamps and a really cute woodland scene die. I am entering the card into the Happy Little Stampers Design Team call.
I stamped the fairies onto watercolor cardstock (Strathmore) using Versafine Onyx Black ink which is a waterproof ink. I then watercolored them using a variety of Daniel Smith extra fine watercolors. For the wings I made sure to use sparkly paints in Aqua Duochrome and Primatek Rhodonite and Moonglow. This made them sparkle and look ethereal.
For the card base I used a purple Hero Arts note card from the kit for the base. I then cut a square of Bazzill silver textured card stock slightly smaller and die cut it using the woodland glen die from the kit. I backed it with the woodgrain paper and adhered with glue runner to the card base.
I stamped in Delicata Silver ink a spray of silver stars on the woodgrain paper and then added a strip of purple cardstock with a co-ordinating sentiment from the kit heat embossed in Hero Arts white embossing powder. I then die cut out the fairies using their co-ordinating dies and adhered using foam squares for dimension. I was sure to slip some of the fairies in front/behind some of the trees and the top fairy is positioned as if to be holding the bird in the tree.
To finish, I added sprinkles of sequins from Simon Says Stamp and each fairy has a crystal on their belt for added bling. It's really sparkly in real life!!
